A Look Into Hair Loss Treatment For Men
Signs of aging are something that men and women alike dread to see. When women notice a new wrinkle or discover that first gray hair, it can be a bit of a crisis. Aging! Oh dear! Of course there are creams for wrinkle reduction and there is dye for hair, but what about men? Aging, for many men, means hair loss. This can begin as early as after puberty in some, but usually starts in the thirties for most men. But what can be done to combat hair loss?
There are quite a number of hair loss treatments for men. Considering this is something that many men have been hating for centuries, it's no surprise that there are old methods as well as new. There are also plenty of hair loss remedies that have their basis in old wives' tales.
Current science offers some very different hair loss treatments for men. From topical medication to laser therapy and transplant surgeries, there are many different levels and degrees of effectiveness in each method.
A very common treatment for hair loss is the topically applied drug. There are two that are FDA approved that are sold under the names Rogaine and Propecia. These are supposed to combat hair loss as well as encourage new growth. They are not effective for everyone, though.
One of the more modern hair loss remedies is laser therapy. You can have the laser therapy sessions at your doctor's office, or even purchase your own “laser therapy comb”. There may be some on the market that don't work, but at least one has been approved by the FDA. Be sure to consult your doctor before purchasing or using one. In the laser therapies, a low level laser light is supposed to stimulate the hair follicles to produce hair.
For anyone more serious about their treatment for hair loss, especially those who have tried other remedies, hair transplant is an option. It is not inexpensive and it is a surgery, so it comes with risks, but it is generally considered a good way to generate new hair in areas where there was previously hair loss.
Those are the textbook answers but there are other remedies for hair loss that should also be seriously considered. Simple ones, like making some lifestyle changes. Of course we know that hair loss is genetic, but there are things you can do to help slow down the process.
Keeping your life as stress free as possible is one way to help keep your hair from falling out. It is true that stress does contribute to hair loss. Also, exercise is a great way to a) help reduce stress, and b) lower hormone levels that cause hair loss and increase those that help prevent it!
Of all these hair loss treatments for men, you are sure to find that some will work better than others. Consult your doctor about what options might be most effective for you.
