The Desperate Search For A Hair Loss Cure
Finding that your thick, healthy hair is no longer so very thick or healthy can be frustrating and upsetting. You may wonder if you are destined to have a sparsely populated scalp or if your hair will abandon it altogether. For this reason, maybe you are one of many people searching for a hair loss cure.
Unfortunately, anyone looking for a hair loss cure will have an extremely difficult time finding one. There are many treatments that can help to counteract hair loss, but none of them can really be called a cure.
Some treatments that can be used are better than others. Many products on the market claim to prevent hair loss, when they really will do nothing, but there are some products and treatments that have been proven effective to promote hair regrowth and prevent hair loss. Neither of these can be considered a cure, however.
From topically applied medications such as minoxidil or finasteride, found in commercial brands, to laser treatments done in the doctor's office or even with an at-home device, to vitamin and herbal solutions, remedies abound, each of which has helped some, but proven ineffective for others.
A hair loss cure would imply that you will never have to deal with hair loss again, but with each of the previously mentioned treatments you are likely or certain to experience hair loss again. There are, however, some more permanent treatments that can be looked into.
Hair transplant surgery is one option that can give more permanent results. This type of cosmetic surgery carries the risks of any other surgery with it, and is best considered as a last result and only after consultation with your doctor.
The way a hair transplant works is that hair is moved from a part of your scalp that produces hair normally to the parts that are experiencing hair loss. Either strips of skin are moved or just the follicles can be transplanted. New methods make it possible for this to achieve a very natural look with minimal scars.
There are some side effects such as the inevitable initial loss of hair from the transplanted area, but over time the hair will grow back and you will have a full head of hair. This can't be considered a cure, however, as you may still experience further hair loss from untreated areas as the hair loss moves further onto your scalp.
As yet there is not hair loss cure on the horizon. Seeking one will take time, so it's a good idea to research some of the options currently available to help you to stop hair loss and get back some of the growth that you've been missing. Or better yet you can just embrace your baldness as more and more men are doing every day.
